Discover Questions
These are 11 basic questions that can be used to facilitate a Discovery Bible Study. Mastering these questions is all it takes. (Questions 1-3 can be adjusted to being the last questions rather than the first).
1. What are you thankful for since we me last time? (Eventually leads to prayer and worship)
2. What are some struggles, needs or concerns that you or others have? (Eventually leads to intercession)
3. Is there any way we can meet those needs or concerns as a group? (Eventually leads to community and ministry to one another)
4. Did you share with anyone what you learned last week? (Eventually leads to evangelism)
5. Did you do what you said you were going to do based upon what you learned last time? Did you follow-through on your 'I will statement'? (Eventually leads to accountability and obedience to scripture)
6. Let's listen or read this story (or passage) from the bible. (Eventually leads to understanding of God's word)
7. Please retell the story in your own words. (Eventually leads to understanding of God's word)
8. What does this passage tell us about God? What does this passage tell us about people? (Leads to personal relationship with God and a better understanding of oneself)
9. Where did you see that in this passage? (Used if discussion strays from the passage. Eventually leads to scripture becoming the authority, prevents heresy and keeps any one person from becoming the expert)
10. If this is true, what will you do, or how will you obey what you just learned before we meet again? (Eventually leads to obedience and not just knowledge)
11. Who are you going to tell about what you learned this week? (Eventually leads to replication, evangelism and the formation of new groups)
